Feo Aladag produces TV film with star cast (among others Jesper Christensen, Milan Peschel, Alwara Höfels and Katja Riemann) about unaccompanied underage refugees and their situation in Germany. EXODUS tells the story of 17 years old Mali refugee Nama (Nama Traore) and his arrival in Germany. Nama, who had to flee from Mali to Germany himself, plays the main role and is in front of the camera for the first time.
The shooting takes place in Berlin and Niamey (Niger/West Africa) until the end of May 2016. Written and directed by Feo Aladag, Production by Feo Aladags filmproduction Independent Artists, Editor for ZDF: Daniel Blum
On Saturday, April 9, a special screening of INBETWEEN WORLDS takes place. The entry will be donated to refugee aid.

The association „Miteinander Kloster Lehnin“, who organizes the screening of INBETWEEN WORLDS in Lehnin, is a volunteer-organized group of citizens of different ages from the community Lehnin and surrounding area. The association is committed to the safe stay of refugees in the municipality. In Lehnin and Damsdorf, two groups of unaccompanied minor boys and a group of male refugees from Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Syria and Africa are located. http://www.miteinander-kloster-lehnin.de/index.html

Feo Aladag ( „WHEN WE LEAVE“ „INBETWEEN WORLDS“) produces her first TV film with the working title of „EXODUS – FLIGHT OF THE CHILDREN“ for the public broadcaster ZDF with her film production company Independent Artists. The film is about unaccompanied underage refugees and their situation in Germany.
Feo Aladag: „It is absultely necessary to make a film about this sensitive issue of German and European present and future in all its complexity, a film that gives all sides of this drama a voice. To take the responsibility especially for the children and young people who need our compassion is not only an act of humanity but our duty.“
„EXODUS – THE FLIGHT OF CHILDREN“ is going to be shot in Germany and Africa in spring 2016.

INBETWEEN WORLDS was awarded with the German Audio Film Award 2015 tonight! Feo Aladag (author, director and producer) and the audio description team including Uta Borchert, Holger Stiesy and Uta-Maria Torp received the prize from the actor Roman Knižka.
Since 13 years, the Audio Film Award honours movies which convince the jury with their high-quality picture description. We would like to thank our great audio description team for their fantastic work!

Yesterday, a special screening of INBETWEEN WORLDS took place in the German Federal Foreign Office. The screening was followed by a debate, where the German Foreign minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and director Feo Aladag discussed with young French and German diplomats about the developments in Afghanistan, the situation of the Afghan population and the collaboration of the German and the local army.

WHEN WE LEAVE by Feo Aladag has been put forward as the German candidate for the Oscar for best foreign film. This decision was made by the specialist jury of “German Films”, the national information and advisory center for the promotion of German films worldwide. In its statement, the jury described its decision with the following words:
“WHEN WE LEAVE is particularly well written, harmoniously set and shows an outstanding acting performance. In a dramatical and subtle way, the fight of a young German-Turkish mother for self-determination in two different value systems is demonstrated.”
